Fantasy Recap: June 5

By CHRIS NICHOLS -- SLAM! Sports

Tampa 3 Calgary 2 2OT (Series tied 3-3)

Are you kidding me? For the 13th straight game, Tampa Bay has kept the pattern of winning, losing, then winning and then losing and on and on and on. Calgary fans hope the trend continues Monday night on what will be the final night of NHL hockey for who knows how long... In a must-win game for Tampa, who else but Brad Richards would score the first two goals for the Lighting? Richards had one goal against the Isles; three against Montreal; four against Philly and now four so far against Calgary... Martin St. Louis scored his fourth goal of this series and 23rd point overall by getting his first shot of the game past Miikka Kiprusoff in double overtime... Ruslan Fedotenko had an assist, scoring his first point since coming back from injury. Interestingly, the guy who has the hot hand in the goal scoring department has not even had one shot in those two games... Chris Clark's goal was his first point in 15 games and he deserved it with his effort Saturday... Oleg Saprykin was another Flame deserving of a better fate in Game Six as he collected his second point in two games (He also has 12 SOG in his past two games played)... Martin Gelinas may have scored on what could be an infamous non-goal if Calgary loses this series, but you can bet Gelinas will be there with another big effort Monday night in an effort to close out another series win for Calgary... Ville Nieminen had an assist in his first game back from suspension... Marcus Nilson has points in two straight contests... Craig Conroy has a whopping zero points in his past five games; one point total in this series... The Flames are 1-7 in these playoffs when Jarome Iginla does not get a point in a game; 15-2 when he does get one.

In addition to analyzing fantasy hockey for us, Chris also writes a weekly column for ESPN's fantasy hockey section during the regular season and periodically during the rest of the year. He can also be found at Mckeenshockey.com, where his News & Notes section is featured seven days a week through the end of the playoffs.

After benching Brad Richards should the New York Rangers eventually just buy him out?
  Yes.
  Might be a good idea.
  No.
  Not sure.
