Chris: Again, thanks for everything you do. Would you pull the trigger on this: My Lecavalier for his Selanne? My Other F's are: Demitra, Weight, Hossa, Jagr, Satan, Samsonov, Gaborik, and Gagne.
Thanks so much, Joe.
I'd actually rather have Lecavalier at this point. You could try some kind of combo of Gaborik and Gagne to get Selanne, if you think Teemu will break out of his funk.
I'm considering making a major trade and I'd like your excellent advice. Tanguay, Morrison, Yzerman and Rafalski (my team) for Jagr, J Thornton and Modano. I guess he's more interested of Lecavalier, instead of Yzerman. But, that might be too much to give up, since Vinnie seems to be on fire?
Yahoo league, stats include [G, A, +/-, PIM, PPP, SHP, GWG, SOG, SH%, FW]
Dave
Don't do it Dave. You've giving up all of the impact players in the deal, except for Tanguay.
HI Chris. I need your expert opinion. I am in a basic H2H league with pts for G, A, PIM, +/- and SOG. I have Martin St. Louis and was wondering if now is the time to trade him? I have been offered one of (Kovalev, R. Smyth or Satan) + (Rafalski or Boynton) for St. Louis and Brad Stuart. I need some help on D and either guy would be an improvement over Stuart. Who would you chose and would you make this deal? Thanks in advance.
I would not do that deal. You're not getting back a forward in the same class as St. Louis. Kovy obviously has some serious upside, but I'd rather take the chance on St. Louis. If you could get a dependable forward in there plus Rafalski, that would work.
I read a wild rumor that because of the play of Gerber, Jiggy might be on the block. Supposedly with the Ducks looking for defensive help. What do you think about it?
Anything is possible in hockey these days, but I would be seriously shocked if the Ducks traded him. He's having an off year, but he's their franchise goalie and he'll rebound strongly next season.
Hey Chris: Any thoughts for Nedved. I've held on to him for a couple of years in a keeper pool waiting oh so patiently for him to show any kind of real spark, like he once had in Pittsburgh. Think Jagr will revitalize him or is a waste of space?
Thanks, Darren, T.O.
Nedved is pretty much always a frustrating player to have on a fantasy team. Just when you think you should drop him, he lights it up. With the acquisition of Jagr, I would wait out the rest of this season and probably wait until at least mid-season next year before even considering trading him.
Hi Chris, keep those brilliant tips and ideas coming. I'm playing in a usual yahoo rotisserie league, and need your opinion on a trade I was thinking of making, here goes. My Players: P. Datsyuk, J. Spezza, N. Khabibulin, R. Whitney and His Players: M. Brodeur. First of all, I don't even know if this trade will go through, if it does go through however, I'm left wondering if I gave up a little too much.
Thank you, Pratik.
It depends on the makeup of your team, but overall... I'd make that deal. Datsyuk should get you around a point per game, but Spezza and Whitney are average. Khabi is going to split time with Grahame and will not be dealt. Brodeur will get you wins and many shutouts.
Hi Chris, I've decided to drop Burke - he's not doing it for me this year. Available free agents are: Luongo, Raycroft, Nabokov, Esche, Denis and Kolzig. Who's the best bet for putting up numbers for the rest of the season? Thanks and keep up the good work.
Eric
Nabokov, Raycroft and Esche are all solid choices. Luongo is the best bet to boost SA%. Don't take Denis under any circumstances.
I am looking at picking up Hedberg in goal. To do this I would have to drop Gaborik or Hemsky. I only have 2 goalies (Weekes & Theodore) & would like a third just in case. Some other choices are: Noronen, Hackett, Conklin, Biron, Snow, Potvin & Garon. (Pretty slim pickings). Should I make the move or do nothing at all?
Hedberg is a waste of time. Grab Biron and drop Hemsky.
Chris: with Kiprusoff ready to start playing in a week or two, I'm wondering if I should pick him off of waivers. My goalies now are Raycroft, Salo, Cujo, and Thibault on the IR. My league counts Wins, Save%, GAA and SHO. Thanks once again for your time and expert opinion.
Salo had a good month of January, but I'd drop him to grab Kipper.
I've taken your advice and it always seems to work out! Keep it up... Our league is only for points and I have Kovalchuk and Heatley. Someone has offered a trade for Sakic and Kariya. I figure the Thrasher players will get more ice time and hopefully points. Do I make this deal? In our league, all the best free agents available are in the 25-32 point area so I'm ready to drop Jokinen and pick up and wait for Mogilny to come back. Is that crazy?
Thanks again...
I would definitely drop Jokinen to wait for Mogilny.
That trade option is very interesting. All four players are studs and the Avs players will have a better +/-. My gut tells me you should try to deal Heatley to get Sakic. I still think Heatley will produce nice point totals, but Sakic might be the safest option.
