Fantasy Recap: Apr. 29
By CHRIS NICHOLS -- SLAM! Sports
Tampa Bay 3 Montreal 1 (Tampa wins series 4-0)
Get out the brooms Tampa fans, because your team is going to the Conference Finals for the first time in franchise history... Brad Richards stretched his point streak to three games and has scored goals in back-to-back games (4G, 5A total)... Dave Andreychuk (2A Thursday) has an assist in three straight games... Dan Boyle scored his first goal of the post-season, giving him four points in the post-season... After going pointless against the Islanders, Vinnie Lecavalier had 5G, 2A against the Habs... Nik Khabibulin allowed one goal or less for the sixth time in the playoffs and has yet to have a SA% below .900 in any game in the post-season... Sheldon Souray pumped 31 SOG, but could not find the net in these playoffs despite scoring 15G in the regular season... Saku Koivu finished with a point-per-game average in his 11 matches... Alex Kovalev has 10 points in 11GP, which will help his falling draft positioning for next season - plummeting because of his bad regular season... Richard Zednik left this game early with an injury and finished the playoffs with six points... Jose Theodore was fairly decent in the playoffs, but he only had two games where he allowed one goal or less and those numbers will not get you to the Conference Finals... Mike Ribeiro had no points in the Tampa series, but he can always fall back on his acting career...
Detroit 4 Calgary 2 (Series tied 2-2)
Calgary had not given up a first period goal in eight straight games, prior to Thursday's opener from Kirk Maltby... Kris Draper has three points in his last three games... Robert Lang's assist was his ninth point of the post-season... Nick Lidstrom's assist was his fifth so far and seventh point... Shanny has three points in four games after three points in his first six games... Ray Whitney collected his second two-point game of the playoffs... Henrik Zetterberg's ENG was his first point since Game Five of the Nashville series... Matt Schneider has gone pointless in five games... Craig Conroy scored his first point in four games and that was his seventh point of the playoffs... Shean Donovan has points in three straight games... Martin Gelinas is smoking hot and has a six-game point streak going (4G, 3A)... Jarome Iginla had points in both Calgary home games, but was shut out in Detroit... Marcus Nilson has a modest four-game point streak going after registering an assist Thursday night.
