Fantasy Recap: Apr. 24

Detroit 5 Calgary 2 (Series tied 1-1)
I still get chills watching Steve Yzerman weave his magic on the ice and for those of you that thought I was nuts choosing the soon-to-be 39-year old as the best sleeper choice from the Wings for this playoff season (Especially given the amount of offensive talent playing in front of him); just check his stats so far (All five of his points have come in the past four games) and imagine how well he'd look on your team if Detroit gets to the next round... Nick Lidstrom was in on four of five Detroit goals Saturday and three of those helpers came on the power play... Brett Hull's two-point game gives him 3G, 1A total... Tomas Holmstrom's tip of a slow wrister from the point was beautiful and gave him his second goal of the post-season... Shean Donovan's goal was his second point of the playoffs... Martin Gelinas not only has points in each game of this series, but has five points in his past six games... Jarome Iginla has been kept off the score sheet in Detroit but did manage his second fight of the playoffs after going after Derian Hatcher... It should come as no surprise that since Iginla isn't scoring, neither is Craig Conroy (Six points coming into this series and nadda in the past two games)... Jordan Leopold has one lone point in his past seven games after opening the playoffs with three assists in the first two games in Vancouver... The Flames could sure use Chris Simon's toughness in this series, but he's still hampered with an injury that won't let him play.
San Jose 4 Colorado 1 (San Jose leads series 2-0)
We've been waiting for Patrick Marleau (1G, 1A Saturday with two hat tricks in the post-season) to blossom into a true star and our wait is over... The Cheechinator strikes again with what has to be one of the most spectacular and memorable goals in recent history as he somehow managed to shoot with his stick between his legs. Cheechoo now has six points total after his two-point effort Saturday... Evgeni Nabokov has only allowed three goals against this high-octane Colorado offense so far... Vinnie Damphousse has points in three straight games now with eight points in seven games in the playoffs... Niko Dimitrakos is enjoying a wonderful playoff season and has seven points in seven games; including five assists in this series... When you're drafting in the first round next year and trying to decide if Peter Forsberg is worth the risk (Let's assume he's not playing in Sweden), just remember how super-human he has looked in the playoffs and that Forsberg in 50 GP and a bench player for the other 32 GP is better than most other guys in 82 GP alone. Forsberg had an assist Saturday to keep his point streak alive, but also had two goals called back (As they should have been) and was all over the ice in this game... Milan Hejduk has goals in four of his past five games... Rob Blake has failed to score a point in this series... David Aebischer has allowed eight goals against (One ENG) in the 5-2 and 4-1 losses in San Jose... Alex Tanguay was back in the lineup and played almost 17 minutes, but he failed to get a shot or a point.
